Solar Can Be Safely Installed On Tile Roofs

Solar panels can be installed on most tile roofs using purpose-designed tile feet and mounting hardware. The tile feet provide secure fixing points for the mounting rails while allowing the panels to sit safely above the roof.

HOW SOLAR IS MOUNTED On a Tile Roof

During installation, selected roof tiles are carefully lifted so the tile feet can be securely fixed into the supporting roof structure underneath.

A small section of the underside of the tile is then carefully ground back to create clearance for the tile foot. This allows the tile to return to its correct position without the mounting foot pushing it upwards or causing it to sit unevenly.

This is an important part of a quality tile-roof installation, as the tiles should sit naturally in their original position once the mounting hardware has been installed.

The number and spacing of tile feet also depends on the wind requirements for your location. In higher wind or cyclonic areas, additional mounting points may be required to provide greater support against increased wind loads.
